Day 3 - 2h

Time: 2h

Progress:

Braces:
Circular saw – rough cut a long piece 185mm wide
Circular saw – rough cut two Braces 325mm long (x185)
Router – square one of the short sides
Use one of the Sides, a Top and a Bottom to get the final dimensions of the Brace( route it a hair shorter. Sides will be flush routed after box is constructed)
Route the other side to final dimension 18cm wide (Mark the final dimension on the template and align to the marks)
Top and Bottom:
Use the Brace as a template and route the long sides of Top and Bottom
Match Sides, Brace, Top and Bottom and mark them
One set done.

Brace. Route 2mm off one edge. Make sure template edge is square to the piece.

Brace - final dimension. Instead of measuring you can use one of the Side pieces as a template and align two boards behind for thickness dimension (this is how the brace will actually be used) Route the Brace a "hair" shorter to be on the safe side. The Sides will be flush routed again once the box is assembled.

Route 2mm off one long edge of the Brace (just to have a clean edge) Measure final width and route to final dimension. You can mark the final width on the template used for straight edge. Make sure piece and straight edge are square.

Use finished Brace as a template to finish Top and Bottom pieces. Doing it this way without measuring ensures the pieces match the way they will be used. Make sure to align the short edges and verify the Brace edge is square to the routed piece

Two Sides, Brace, Top and Bottom. One set done!

That time again!
